Let's take a look at how to navigate through the model's data structure and select specific model elements. You can use the Tree card feature to manage object selection and visibility and here are the options at your disposal:

The Tree Card shows all objects in your 3D model and displays their hierarchy. Click on the Tree icon in the left side panel to bring up the Tree card.

Highlight Model Elements

  • Select any object name in the Tree to highlight it in the viewer

  • Double-click on any object name in the Tree to zoom in on the object it in the model viewer

  • Click on any model element in the viewer to highlight the element in the model tree (tree list will expand)

Navigate through the model data structure

Expand/Collapse Tree

Click on the plus (+) button to expand the hierarchy of the Tree and the minus (-) button to collapse it.

Go to top

If you have expanded the tree hierarchy, click on the Go to top (^) button to go back to the top level of your model hierarchy.

Control Element visibility

You can control element visibility from the model tree using the eye icons. You can toggle between isolate/show/hide model elements.

Isolate (see-through icon)

Click to isolate the selected model element in the viewer. This hides all the unselected elements from the viewer.

Show/Hide (solid/crossed eye icon)

  • Hide
Click once to hide the selected model elements in the viewer. The crossed eye means that the objects are hidden.

  • Show
Click again to show the selected model elements in the viewer. The dark blue eye icon suggests that the objects are visible.

Note that the light blue eye icon means that one or more of the children (nested) objects are hidden.
